ONLINE RETREAT - JANUARY 14TH 2026
Writing the Shadow
Write What the Dark Remembers - A Mythic Writing Circle for Women
For the woman whose words have been silenced, edited, or swallowed.
For the woman whose words have gone quiet —
who senses something pressing beneath the surface: a truth that no longer wants to be managed.
This is not a writing class. It’s a remembering.
A return to what the body already knows: that the stories we bury don’t disappear — they wait.
Each week, we descend through myth, shadow, and story:
Bluebeard’s locked room.
The Handless Maiden’s wound.
The Sealskin’s exile.
The Skeleton Woman’s return.
No critique. No craft.
Only the page as altar.
Through writing, we meet what’s been too much, too tender, or too forbidden to name.
We write not to make art, but to make meaning — to find language for the half-lit places of our lives.
In a small circle of eight women, we listen, write, and sometimes speak —
not for critique, but for connection.
This is intimate work: slow, honest, and quietly transformative.
Women are drawn here when their old ways of expression no longer hold —
when they crave a space that honours both the dark and the divine.
Writing the Shadow offers that:
a practice of descent,
and the first glimmer of return.
